Mari Boya, ready to race in the streets of Monaco

Pre MONACO

Round 3 of Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will take place in Monaco Circuit, one of the most historical and difficult tracks in the world.

• After obtaining good results in Barcelona, Boya will try to maintain this positive performance at this unique venue.

Boya: “After two positive weekends we are looking forward to this round. Racing in Monaco alongside Formula 1 is something fantastic and I hope I will live up to the challenge”.

Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will go on this weekend. Monaco Circuit hosts the championship, which holds the third round of the season in the streets of the Mediterranean Principality. For the third time in a row, the series will be part of a Formula 1 Gran Prix, providing the championship’s young talents bigger visibility.

Monaco Circuit flows through the streets of the small country and some of its most iconic landmarks, such as the Monte Carlo Casino or the glamorous harbour. The track’s 3,337 Km and 19 corners are a unique challenge for the drivers. The track is very narrow, and every mistake is severely punished as the walls are really close.

Because of these features, Monaco is a unique challenge, seen in few other circuits. The driver’s skills are tested in every turn, and staying focused all the time is crucial to avoid mistakes. Due to its narrowness, overtaking on this street circuit is extremely difficult, making it essential to set competitive qualifying laps in order to start races as ahead as possible.

Mari Boya will race in Monaco after scoring more points on the previous round, held in Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. The Spaniard placed his Van Amersfoort Racing car in fifth place on the first race, his best position in the series. The start of the season is being positive, the goals are being reached and Boya will fight to maintain the consistency and pace that are allowing him to be among the top rookies on the grid.

Boya: “After two positive weekends we are looking forward to this round. Racing in Monaco alongside Formula 1 is something fantastic and I hope I will live up to the challenge. This will be one of the most special meeting of the season, but also one of the most difficult. Doing good in qualifying sessions and avoiding mistakes will be the key, but I am confident we can do a good job alongside the team to obtain more good results”.
